Sweethearts at Sea: A Love Story from the Age of Whaling–October 21st
Join us Wednesday, October 21st at 6 PM for a lecture by Dr. Amanda Goodheart Parks. During the 19th century when Yankee whale oil lit the world, New England whalemen sailed the world in pursuit of their catch, leaving their wives and families behind for years at a time. That changed in the 1840s when a small group of married couples defied tradition by going to sea together. Please call or stop by to register.
