A History of Huskies Hoops: Legacy of Greatness with Author Marty Gitlin–November 12th
Join us Wednesday, November 12th at 6:30 PM. Registration required. Celebrate the history and greatness of the UConn basketball teams with this fun, lively and enlightening presentation hosted by award-winning sportswriter and author Marty Gitlin. Take a journey from the beginning of the men’s and women’s programs to the present with video highlights of their greatest teams, players and events from the turn of the twentieth century to today. The presentation will also feature fun trivia questions for patrons to ponder and answer, as well as a Q&A following. This is an ideal program for any UConn basketball fan – men’s, women’s or both!
Connecticut Cryptids–October 30th
Registration required. Join us Thursday, October 30th at 6:30 PM to meet author Patrick Scalisi & illustrator Valerie Ruby-Omen and learn about their extensive research on creature folklore from throughout the state from the 1600s to the 2020s. Learn about the concepts of “cryptids” and “cryptozoology” and their history. This will be followed by a storytelling session from the book and a Q&A.

Mental Health Book Club–October 28th
Tuesday, October 28th at 6 PM. Join us as we dive into Jonathan Haidt’s bestseller “The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness”. We’ll be discussing Parts 1 and 2 (pages 1-113) of this eye-opening book. . Please register for this program. This event is hosted in partnership with Levi Coe Library, RSD13, DMYFS, and DMLWC.
